Rockwell College celebrates Tipperary All-Ireland win

Rockwell College proudly congratulates the winning Ladies’ Intermediate All Ireland Football team on its

victory over Tyrone last Sunday. The College was represented widely within the cohort, with players

Aisling McCarthy (2014) and Laura Morrissey (2017) both past pupils, Tony Smith, former SCT coach

and current Gaelic Football coach in the Tipp back-room team and Ronan Crosse, former pupil and SCT

player as the Tipp team physiotherapist.


Ladies’ Gaelic football has grown in popularity in Rockwell College over the last number of years under

the careful nurturing of Tony Smith, Michael Doyle Snr and Edith Carroll. The strong representation of

Rockwell College players across the county teams only raises the profile of the game in the College.

Aisling McCarthy, a physiotherapy student from the Class of 2014 was named Player of the Match, a

well-deserved accolade to mark an outstanding performance and a person tally of 1-04 for the day.
