17th February 2024 New York City

1995 was the last time that Rockwell College Union had a New York Dinner, so 29 years on it had to be special. Benjamin Prime Steak house on East 40th Street was chosen as the venue for the evening. We are very grateful to Keith McCorry (class of 1988) for his help in planning the reunion and his knowledge and connections in the city made for a great weekend.

He truly is The King of New York!!

We had 32 Union members spanning almost 70 years out of Rockwell. From recent graduates from 2018 right back to 1958. As people chatted and made plans to keep in touch, many didn’t realise there were so many Rockwellians living in the USA.

Ross Thompson, President of the Union, welcomed the guests and gave a little history of the Union and the US dinners. There have been two dinners in Boston, two in Washington and now two complete in New York. Principal of Rockwell, Audrey O’Byrne travelled from Tipp to attend the dinner. She gave everyone an update on Rockwell and thanked Union members for supporting projects in the college. She gave an update on the current project of the 3G all-weather pitch that is in the final stages of fundraising.

We realise there were many that were not able to make the New York Dinner so there is a plan to try to do it again very soon—perhaps every second year or alternate years to the London dinner. We look forward to that!!!!
