I want to thank you all players for taking the time out of their busy schedules to play in the Rockwell College Union Golf outing on Saturday 3rd May at Cahir Park GC. We were blessed with a beautiful day and Cahir Park GC was in super shape. Thanks to RCU President and her Mum who kindly prepared the goodie bags for all 34 participants! This is the largest field we have had for a long time and we will look to build on this interest and get this magnificent competition back to being a pillar of the RCU year.
This event has been played for the magnificent trophy for 75 years since it was presented to the Union in 1950 by Willie O’Neill (Class of 1935).
Congratulations to Tom McHale (Class of 2015) who took top honours in the 2025 edition of the annual Rockwell College Union Golf outing. See photo below of Tom being presented with the magnificent cup by President, Mary O’Connell (Class of 2004).
Well done also to Brian MacGoey (1986) for his second place finish. His stellar record in this competition is Played 3 - Won 2 and runner-up last Saturday,
Honourable mention to Maurice (Moss) Ahern for his 36 points but without a current valid Golf Ireland handicap, he was one of the players who got to enjoy the outing without being eligible for the competition.
