Murt Duggan (Class of 1959)

 The Rockwell College Union has learned of the passing of Murt Duggan MRCVS, Ballingarry, Co Tipperary (Class 1959) and extends our deepest sympathies to his family.

 Murt was renowned as a talented hurler and captained the Harty Cup team in 1959 that lost to the eventual champions St Flannan’s in the semi final of that competition.  Murt was also a Tipperary Minor Hurler and won an All-Ireland medal as a wing forward with Tipperary in 1959, a final that saw Tipperary beat Kilkenny by 2-08 to 2-07. Murt later joined the backroom team of Tipperary under Len Gaynor and was a selector in 1997 when Tipperary was beaten by Clare in the All-Ireland. May he rest in peace.
